Rules for using Asonge Sonke digital services
These terms govern access to and use of the Asonge Sonke website, member portal and related digital services.
1. Acceptance and legal capacity
By using the service, you agree to these Terms of Use and applicable policies. You must have the legal capacity and authority required to enter the relevant transaction or act for the organisation/member account concerned.
2. Electronic communications and records
You consent to the use of electronic records, notices, approvals and communications where permitted by law. Electronic transactions are managed with South Africa’s Electronic Communications and Transactions Act and other applicable requirements in mind.
3. Account security
You are responsible for protecting your credentials, MFA codes and authorised devices. Never disclose passwords, PINs or OTPs to another person. Asonge Sonke may require identity verification, CAPTCHA, MFA or additional review before granting access or processing sensitive requests.
4. Accurate and lawful information
You must provide accurate, current and lawful information and promptly correct material errors. Providing misleading identity, financial, loan, payment or supporting information may result in review, suspension or other lawful action.
5. Contributions, savings and wallet records
Member balances and transaction histories are based on posted and approved financial records. Pending, reversed, disputed or reconciled items may affect what is available at a given time. Statements should be reviewed promptly and discrepancies reported through approved support channels.
6. Loans and responsible credit
Where credit is offered and the National Credit Act applies, applications remain subject to eligibility, affordability, verification, responsible-credit and approval processes. Displaying an application option does not guarantee approval, a particular rate, limit or disbursement.
7. Interest, fees and repayment information
Applicable interest, charges, repayment obligations and service conditions are communicated through the relevant agreement, disclosure or member record. If website content conflicts with an executed agreement or mandatory law, the legally controlling document or rule prevails.
8. AI-assisted review
AI-generated flags, suggestions and review summaries are decision-support tools. They are not independent approvals, legal opinions or accounting entries. Material financial corrections require authorised human review and, where configured, maker/checker approval before any permitted change is applied.
9. Privacy and personal information
Personal information is processed according to the Privacy Policy and applicable law, including POPIA. Users must not upload another person’s information unless they have lawful authority to do so.
10. Payments and third parties
Some services may rely on banks, payment processors, identity-verification providers, messaging providers or other third parties. Their own availability, terms and processing controls may also apply. Asonge Sonke does not require users to provide full payment-card credentials through ordinary support forms.
11. Intellectual property
Software, design, content, trademarks and other protected material remain the property of their respective owners. No licence is granted except the limited right needed to use the service for its intended lawful purpose.
12. Acceptable use and cybersecurity
You may not attempt unauthorised access, misuse another account, introduce malware, bypass security controls, scrape protected member information, interfere with service operation or use the platform for unlawful activity. Security testing requires prior written authorisation.
13. Availability, maintenance and continuity
The service may be interrupted for maintenance, security, provider outages, emergencies or disaster-recovery actions. Reasonable continuity and recovery controls are maintained, but uninterrupted availability cannot be guaranteed.
14. Suspension and termination
Access may be limited or suspended to protect members, investigate suspected misuse, comply with law, enforce agreements or respond to security risk. Lawful records and obligations may remain after access ends.
15. Complaints and disputes
Questions or disputes should first be submitted through the Contact page so they can be recorded and routed. Statutory complaint and ombud/regulator channels remain available where applicable and are not waived by these terms.
16. Governing law
Unless a binding agreement provides otherwise, these website terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, subject to any mandatory consumer, credit, privacy or other protections that apply.
17. Changes
Terms may be updated for legal, security, operational or service changes. Material amendments are published with an updated effective date and communicated where required.
